Measurement of Uncertainty

IDEAL FOR: People who are routinely estimating uncertainty for their laboratory, including Quality Managers, Technical Managers, Chemists and Quality Control Staff.

Every analytical measurement has some uncertainty associated with it due to unavoidable errors in the measurement process. Knowledge of this uncertainty allows the reliability of the results to be assessed to determine if they are ‘fit for purpose’.

This course is ideal for those struggling with estimating measurement uncertainty.

The course provides all the information, knowledge and skills needed to estimate uncertainty for analytical methods, step-by-step, from start to finish.  It is excellent preparation for those who need to estimate the uncertainty of analytical methods for ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation.

This course is highly recommended for people who are routinely estimating uncertainty for their laboratory, including Quality Managers, Technical Managers, Chemists and quality control staff. It is specifically targeted for those dealing with the regulatory testing of precious/non-precious jewellery and consumer products and using equipment such as ICP-OES/ AAS/XRF/Fire Assay/ titrations and similar analytical instruments.

On completion of this course, delegates will be able to estimate uncertainty for laboratory methods and confidently answer any questions concerning uncertainty estimates. Estimating measurement of uncertainty is a complex task and delegates will be well equipped to build on their knowledge based on what they have learned during the one day course.
