Understanding Antique Jewellery

TRAINING COURSE OBJECTIVE

This one-day introductory jewellery course  will give you a fascinating insight into jewellery types and styles, from the late 18th Century through to the mid-20th Century.  The hands-on course focuses on the more affordable everyday jewellery of each period, and provides key information for dating antique jewellery on stylistic grounds.  This will involve discussing diamond cuts, gemstone types, hallmarks and jewellery construction.  Current values both at auction and in the antique market will also be discussed.  This course may be of interest to those working in auction houses, the antique trade, pawnbrokers and the antique enthusiast alike.  No prior knowledge of antique jewellery is required, although some basic knowledge of jewellery and gemstones is preferred.  The course provides 6 hours of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activity.
