STAFF SUPPORT THE GREAT MIDLANDS FUN RUN

WESTMINSTER ABBEY HONOUR FOR MATTHEW BOULTON

It has been formally announced this week that the 18th century Birmingham industrialist Matthew Boulton will be honoured with a memorial in Westminster Abbey in 2014. The Birmingham Assay Office was founded by an Act of Parliament in 1773 thanks to a vigorous lobbying campaign by Boulton. THE BIRMINGHAM ASSAY OFFICE MOURNS LOSS OF FORMER ASSAY MASTER BERNARD WARD, OBE

We are very sad to announce the death of Bernard Ward OBE, former Assay Master of the Birmingham Assay Office who passed away on Friday 15th March 2013. Bernard had been ill for some time and now has found peace. Our thoughts and prayers are with his widow Margaret and his children Val and Michael.
